What's new in Kamala Nehru Shishu Vihar?
March-July 2009 - Fulfilling a dream...Gift from Lausanne for KNSV School
As of March 2009, Gautam (cousin of the school principal) & Marie-Claude who live & work in Switzerland, have decided to take a 5 month leave of absence from work to come and help in the development of KNSV school. Gautam, originally from Bihar in India, feels that he was born under a good star as he could benefit from the best education in India for the first 15 years of his life followed by college studies in the USA and Europe. Today, his background and emotional attachment to India drew him to help KNSV school.
Realizing that financial sponsoring was not sufficient, both Gautam and Marie-Claude felt that the school would greatly benefit from their contribution in helping to set up development and fundraising projects. Their main goals are the following:
- Define the key development priorities (infrastructure, amenities, teachers, website, etc)
- Prepare a detailed case study to be used for fundraising applications within and outside India.
- Develop additional sponsorship between KNSV students and overseas sponsors

March 2009 - Painting of boys' hostel
The internal walls of the boys hostel, which were extremely dirty, got a new coat of blue paint. The external front wall of the hostel has also been repainted. That will create a much cleaner living environment for the kids.

2008 - Installation of fans in most of the classrooms
During the year 2008, most of the classrooms have been equipped with fans. From March to June, the heat is such that it was becoming unbearable for kids to follow classes. Of course the kids and teachers love it!

September 2008 - Wedding gifts sponsor the education of 13 children for life!
In September 2008, Gautam (cousin of school principal ) & Marie-Claude got married! Their wedding guests have been emotionally touched by the idea of raising funds to help the school as a wedding present. The total gifted amount has been deposited and its interest will allow each year 13 new kids to receive full education from primary to higher secondary.
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THEIR WEDDING GUESTS!
In September 2008, Gautam (cousin of school principal ) & Marie-Claude got married! Their wedding guests have been emotionally touched by the idea of raising funds to help the school as a wedding present. The total gifted amount has been deposited and its interest will allow each year 13 new kids to receive full education from primary to higher secondary.
